I woke up in a romantic mood so my weekend advice will reflect that. I say you make room for romance this weekend. I am not talking about going somewhere to bring romance into your life. Be romantic in your own home. Go the extra mile and decorate the table just a little. Use a tablecloth or a runner and add a flower to your breakfast table. Use your china and fine kitchenware when you serve lunch and dinner. I mean, why should you keep those beautiful things unused in some cupboard where no one can enjoy them? Afraid some of it may break? Then it will simply break and you replace it or not. Life is too short for attachment.

Ah, another great piece of advice. My way of thinking. :) Have a wonderful weekend, Lisa! xo
ReplyDeleteBravo. This is my life motto. Romance yourself. You are worth it. Celebrate beauty in every day living. I think I'll dig out the finest today. xo
ReplyDeleteSo sweet and such good advice. I'm a "leave it in the cabinet because it might break" girl, but I shouldn't be. Headed to a wedding reception tomorrow so I will plan on making it a romance-filled weekend! Have a great one Lisa.

you are right, I always wonder why my mom is keeping china in a box for fear of not breaking. I will try to convince her to stop doing that and use them.
ReplyDeletehave a romantic weekend :)
I agree with you about special moments like that, with all the most beautiful things around! I love using beautiful tableware very much, it can really transform any table. My favourite mix of rustic and pretty is having tea in a garden - the table and chairs we have are very basic, but the cups are so beautiful, they make tea taste better and us - feel good. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful (and very romantic!) weekend, Lisa!

tea in the garden sounds so lovely!
DeleteYes, yes, yes. One of the biggest things H taught me in our time together so far has been to rid myself of ridiculous attachment to things. Things can be lost, broken, cracked, and most often, they can be replaced.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to take your advice and bring out the napkin rings and fine china this weekend!
Enjoy the weekend, Lisa!
sounds like you'll have a fabulous and fancy weekend ;-)
DeleteI totally agree with you! Taking out the fine china tonight :) Have a great weekend!

DeleteIt is so nice reading this post because it is true that certain feelings can be 'showed' through beautiful things. I'll take your advice and use my colourful Murano glasses, a dear wedding gift that I rarely use...I wish you a nice w-e!
ReplyDeletecolourful Murano glasses sounds like something I would enjoy ;-)
DeleteHi Lisa, what a dreamy post - I'm all for creating a romantic atmosphere, and I'm definitely not the type of person to keep the pretty things out of sight - but after almost two months of being on my own minus the husband, I'm VERY ready for some couple romance! xoxox
ReplyDeleteWe all should do that, Lisa! Life is running so fast that sometime we forget the importance of romance :* I read this post on Friday but had no time to comment, so I followed your advice ;)))
